Dinghy Race July 4, 2024 3:00 pm
Just a reminder and invitation that weather permitting there will be a Blind-Folded Dinghy Race on July 4th at 3:00pm. Lisa and Paul Wilcox (Out & About) will be hosting this event.
This is open to BYC members whether in the Bayfield marina or other marinas, their family, and guests. Invite Bayfield marina boaters who are not BYC members as appropriate. Two people for each dinghy are required to enter the race and with their own dinghy, oars, and USCG approved life jackets.
There will be a quick Captain’s meeting at 3:00pm near the Gazebo in the city Memorial Park by the Marina turning basin to discuss the rules, safety concerns and the race course. Blind-folds will be provided and there will be prizes for winners! There will be extra credit points for dinghy Fourth of July decorating. Just be sure that it is secure to the dinghy as we don’t want to have things end up in the lake.
Please Join! It is great fun! We look forward to a great time!

Terry Bauer will be available in our marina to do complimentary vessel safety inspections on the following dates:
July 7 - Sunday July 12 - Friday July 13 - Saturday
He would like an idea of how many people are interested. Please email cindy_l_olson@yahoo.com if you are interested and indicate what day you prefer and an AM or PM preference. The inspection can take anywhere from a half hour to an hour.
Terry also runs a scuba diving business, so there’s a possibility his schedule may change last minute, but these are the dates he currently has open. We are fortunate to have someone willing to do this. I know our last boat inspection sticker is dated 2021.
