Texan Race Team Wins 3rd Place During Race Week 2015!  Congrats!

Two kinds of sailors participated in the 37th annual Bayfield Race Week, June 28-July 3: those who like to win and those who just want to have fun.

Texana, a boat with a core crew of seven kids (14 years-old and younger) and three supervising adults definitely fell into the latter category. They actually placed third in the overall Mid Distance Fleet B race — a remarkable feat, considering some not so fun things happened to them along the way, like a massive tear to their Genoa headsail and an emergency trip to Ashland Memorial Hospital. Regardless of these setbacks they, along with 47 other boats, had numerous memorable adventures out on Lake Superior last week.  Read more...

Quarry Bay
New board walk at Quarry Bay, and some other upgrades courtesy of our tax dollars. On the trail we found a momma Eagle giving us the stink eye while daddy eagle circled our heads. There was also some epic sized poop on the trail the boys found fascinating.

Whatever left the poop behind probably ate this blue jay, at least that's our story.

We found some cool junk at the Quarry.

Fishing

My wife Jeanneane and I call home E7 on the break wall. We love it there. We have a beautiful flower garden and this year we have added a tomato garden and a pepper garden. The only good thing about the late season is the fish are still near shore and we are catching them of the dock. The other great thing about the break wall is great neighbors.  Stop out, check out our new line up stink pots.
